Thelocactus macdowellii
Thelocactus macdowellii is from or garden and has been very successful producing lots of flowers every spring. Plants are one of the first to bloom and seem to be self fertile. This plant is an a pretty exposed location and has taken -17F. These plants seem to have more trouble with summer heat than winter cold. Extra water in summer can really help this species.
