Stomatium pyrodorum

Stomatium pyrodorum is another nocturnal blooming species of mesemb from NW South Africa along the Namibian border. These are not as cold hardy as some of its cousin but very fast growing and very neat plants. Plants tend to flower at 4 months old. I had these survive 0F with snow cover but they did not survive -17F in part because they were getting ready to flower. So these need some protection in a garden but a definate trial plant. We have only a few of these plants.
 
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5/6/7 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
