Escobaria sneedii x E. organensis
Escobaria sneedii x E. organensis is a hybrid from one of our gardens. Seed came off of a sneedii but was clearly not a Escobaria sneedii once it came up. Escobaria organensis was nearby and plants have many similarities to it. So far plants have been solitary but both parents are prolific offsetting plants. We have seen flowers on a few of these and they range from yellow-green to peach-pink flowers. Both parents have taken -22F and negative teens. The hybrid we are growing seems to more water tolerant than either parent, probably that hybrid vigor.
I do not guarantee these in a zone 5 because everyones growing conditions are different but this would be a good trial plant to grow in your cold outdoor garden. Try to plant outdoor 90 days before 1st hard freeze.
