Cylindropuntia leptocaulis
Cylindropuntia leptocaulis or Christmas Cholla is a small pencil cholla that can get 6ft tall but isusually no more than 3ft. Plants do like growing in other shrubs and use it like support. These are cold hardy in Colorado and can tolerate -22F or maybe more. The plants flower in June or July. The red fruit will appear in fall and stay on the plant to spring. This is why they are called Christmas Cactus.
We are selling rooted plants that are actively growing in 3" pots. Plants will be shipped bare-root.
We share our experiences to help with your own trials of cold hardiness. We do not guarantee these plants in any garden or zone. Every garden is different and everyones growing conditions are different. Please try plants at your own risk, I do not want to be misleading to anyone.
